Coming home after a long day at work, having to deal with snippy customers and a boss who's riding you? Or maybe your mom called to let you know that a degree in acting was probably a waste of time and money since you're just going to end up hosting a show about mixing cocktails right before the camera started rolling and you had to spend five minutes in the bathroom “freshening up.” Either way, after that, you're going to want a drink. And fast.
Welcome back to the Balsamic Bartender. Today we're going to make a quick and easy cocktail. The no nonsense, simple Vodka Soda. This time, though, we're going to add a little zip with some nice Meyer Lemon Balsamic.
Personally, I like to pick up some sparkling water instead, and I usually go with a lemon flavored water for a little more pop, but use what you've got, or live on a wild side and try something new.
Now, before you get to pouring, first you're going to want to glaze the inside of a glass with the Meyer Lemon Balsamic and then fill the glass up with ice. Then, grab your trusty cocktail mixer and pour in the vodka and a splash or two of the lime juice, about an ounce if you like it a little more sour. Toss some ice in and give it a mix.
Finally, you'll pour the contents of the mixer into your glass and finish with the soda and toss a slice of lime right in.
This drink pairs with just about everything under the sun due to it's simple but tasty nature, but if you're looking for a suggestion, I like it with a nice spinach salad with some grilled chicken and topped with some Unicorn Tears. Check out our website to find the recipe.
