Everyone has that one kind of liquor that they love, but can sometimes get them in a little bit of trouble. Either by the inevitable hangover it causes you to have, or by having a bit too much of a good thing, which is not recommended, and shame on you, your mother would be shocked, we all have a drink that we can't stay away from. Today, we're tackling mine.
The Tequila Sunrise. It's a weakness of mine. Fruity, refreshing, and a little bit naughty with the oomph only tequila can give you. This drink screams summer time shenanigans, and even though it already has plenty of fruity flavor, kicking it up a notch with our Pomegranate Balsamic is a way to turn this cocktail into a brand new experience.
First, you're going to fill a highball glass with some ice. Then pour in the tequila and the orange juice. Make sure to keep a little bit of room in the glass because next we're going to pour in the Pomegranate Balsamic.
Make sure not to stir it, though. Part of the charm of this cocktail is the wonderful color and the fact that it mixes itself while you sip it, so the drink gets better in step with your mood. After that, garnish the side of the glass with the orange slice and plop the cherry right in.
Easy enough to make, and even easier to enjoy. For me, I find it best to enjoy my tequila with some food, and with this summer drink, nothing beats some chile rubbed baby back ribs. And trust me, you'll need a heavier meal, because these babies go down smooth.
Let me know what drink you're weak to, and what kind of trouble it's gotten you into in the past. And, as always, if you want to see your favorite drink on the blog, let me know in the comments below.
