Five Ways to Use Fig Balsamic Vinegar
February 28, 2015

Tangy and delicately sweet with caramelized fig flavor, Olimila Gourmet Emporium’s Ripe Fig Balsamic Vinegar is a tasty addition to your pantry. Here we share our favorite recipes and uses for this tasty treat.
1. The figgy sweetness in our gourmet balsamic vinegar makes it a perfect glaze for grilled or roasted pork and lamb, baked salmon and sautéed chicken. Try brushing it on in the last few minutes of cooking, like in this Fig Chicken recipe, or add a little to the skillet at the end of your sauté to coat.
2. On salads. This aged balsamic vinegar has enough flavor to dress a salad or veggies by itself or when mixed with equal components EVOO, which works wonderfully over a salad of fresh figs, arugula, goat cheese and toasted almonds.
3. Drizzle our gourmet blend of Fig Balsamic Vinegar over roasted vegetables like eggplant, mushrooms or asparagus. Reduce it a bit for a syrupy accompaniment to soft or aged. Add a splash to hearty soups like pumpkin and butternut squash. Or pair it with our Blood Orange Olive Oil and drizzle over fruit and Greek yogurt for a wholesome bite.
4. This Fig flavored Balsamic Vinegar makes an excellent addition to any cocktail made out of bourbon or spiced rum.
5. Try it on pistachio gelato with fresh sliced figs. It is also delicious over roasted apples, pears or peaches.
